It has been brought to our attention that there is currently another band trying to pass itself off as Nazareth. The band comprises of Manuel Charlton and three of his American friends.

The way they have written their press release reads as though Manuel Charlton has rejoined Nazareth. This is untrue, very misleading and designed to be so. Admittedly the press release eventually names the other three members of the band more than halfway through, describing them as "the new Nazareth line up", but not before they advertise "Nazareth featuring Manny Charlton". This whole thing would be hilarious if it wasn't so serious. Imagine "the legendary Scottish rockers", as we are constantly referred to in the Press, being represented by these American imposters. Even worse, they seem to be advertising their shows as "The World 40th. Anniversary Tour", which is exactly what we, Nazareth, are calling our tour in 2008, (see band website tour page). This is with a guy who has not been in the band Nazareth for over 17 years and some American mates of his.

We ask you real Nazareth fans to look out for any advertised shows trying to sell this bogus band and warn other people, including the venues, that this is not Nazareth and guide them to our website. We are also told that they are constructing a Nazareth website, so you can imagine how confusing this could become and how detrimental it will be to the career of the band known as Nazareth.

Thankfully, all the other ex-members of Nazareth have not decided to steal our name, otherwise we could have five different Nazareth's out there. We are obviously fighting this thing and so far all the promoters who have booked them have cancelled once they were informed of the truth. We will keep you up to date with developments but, meanwhile, thought it would be right to let you all know what is going on.

New Album Released

The new album 'The Newz' has now been released in a few countries, we hope you don't have to wait too long to get your copy,

The Album is set for a UK release on March 31, 2008.

Unfortunately there has been a delay with the DVD that we were hoping to release with the new album, as soon as we have some more news on this will will let you know.

New Album

Hi Folks

I saw the advert on Amazon today for the first time the same as you guys and would like to pass on

some news about the release.

First I should tell you that what you see on Amazon is pretty much the sleeve as it will be but after reading all your suggestions last month about the shape of the "t" and the "h" in our logo we decided that the one you all thought was the best is the one we will use.

The reason that it isn't like that on the ad. is because the record company were desperate to get something up there but as we hadn't fixed the logo at that time we just sent the one we had.

The sleeve and inside booklet was only finished around 3.00am today and is now going into print tomorrow. (Who says we leave things to the last minute?}

Some of you seemed a bit concerned that the cd would only be getting released in mainland Europe with the UK to follow but I've spoken with the UK office for Edel (the record company) and they assure me that the release is timed to be the same.

They are all trying to get the cd out as soon as possible but as you can imagine, it takes a wee while to get everything pressed and printed so we reckon it's going to be towards the end of February before it is available.

I know this is a bummer for the people who will be coming to see us on the UK tour but we will be playing four tracks from it on the shows.

When you think about it, they are the lucky ones because if they don't like what they hear they can say "stuff it, I'm not buying that" (just kidding I HOPE)

We are in rehearsals, with Wednesday being the last one and we've changed the set quite a bit so I hope you like it.

As you know, it doesn't matter what songs we play, someone is gonna come up at the end of the show and say "hey, you didn't play my favourite" so I'll just apologize for that before we start.

We reckon if we fitted them all in we would be playing a 12 hour gig!!!

Anyway, this little note was just to try and keep you up to date with what's going on.

I hope you all like the cd, we loved making it and really love it. Well of course I'm going to say that. You didn't think I was going to say "don't buy it, it sucks a lemon"

No doubt we will be reading your reviews very soon and believe me we take your opinion very seriously.

Just to end on a light note. We start the 40th Anniversary Tour in Ireland.

We have never played in Ireland in our lives and are really looking forward to it.If you stand on a tall ladder you can see Ireland from Scotland, but we've played Mongolia, Chile, Greenland, India, Africa and almost everywhere else that has electricity.

Do you think we should change our booking agent????

New year Message From The Band

Hi my friends.

Has that just been the fastest year ever? Are we sure we actually got 52 weeks? It definitely felt likethe busiest Naz year in a long time although it wasn't all live shows but there was more traveling involved than normal. The guys all agree that the Russian / Ukraine tour that we just finished was the most exhausting in the band's career but what great stories came out of it. I hope you don't get to read the one where the band and crew try to hang me for organizing the schedule. (just kidding, I hope)

The highlight of the year was getting to record the long awaited CD. We had a great time in Switzerland making the record and I hope when you hear it you like it as much as we do. The reason you haven't heard it yet is because it hasn't been mixed due to the fact that we've been busy touring since we left the studio and haven't had time to get back in there and finish the project. We hope to have it completed by middle January but can't guarantee it to be released for the UK shows because of manufacturing schedules but we'll do our best to have it on sale by mid February.

As you are all probably aware, we have ended an otherwise great year with a sad situation involving an ex member forming a new band and naming it Nazareth. I don't really want to talk about this in this message to you all but I knew you would think it weird if I didn't mention it.

So consider it mentioned and leave it at that until we see where things are going next year.

Anyway, the great thing about touring is meeting all you guys at the gigs and we seem to meet more and more of you "Forum Fanatics" every year. You all know you are the backbone of the Nazareth support and you should be aware that most times we learn what is going on in the World of Naz by reading your chat to each other.

Please don't ever stop.

I will end now by thanking Keith and Cob for their dedication to keeping you informed of all that we are doing but you all know that out there we have many people who do many special things to help the band ( you all know who you are ).

At the end of the day everyone's so important.

New Live DVD from Brazil

A new live DVD/CD recorded in Curitiba, Brazil is to be released at the end of September, the final mixes are being checked by the band at the moment.
