I've seen two really good music documentaries recently.
If you like singer songwriter and classic rock then you have to see 'Searching For Sugar Man' (2012) A very moving story.

And if you're interested in "The making of..." type of films. Then you just have to see 'Sound City' (2013) a documentary made by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. It tells the story behind this specific studio in LA called Sound City, located in a parking lot. Lots of great bands and artists telling their story. Fleetwood Mac, Rick Springfield, REO Speedwagon etc.
